Balance Druid

Postby Smoothwrath on Wed Jul 14, 2010 3:12 pm

RL Name: Jack
Age: 16
Country: England
Primary play times: Most of the day :) may go out for lunch etc (12 ish)
Internet connection: My connection seems to be pretty stable and i dont constantly DC.
Computer: Custom built with 3ghz processor, 9800gt gcard, 2gb ram. Was built a while ago now but the spec is still great for running WoW :)

Character name: Smoothwrath
Character class: Druid
Talent Spec: Balance ( 58/0/13 )
Character level: 80
Your character’s Armory profile: http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet ... moothwrath
Total /played time: 47 days 3 hours

Character tradeskill professions and levels: Maxed leatherworking / skinning
Notable patterns/formulas etc: have a few 264 LW patterns ( Rock-steady treads, Footpads of impending Death and Draconic bonesplinter legguards

Character WOTLK instance progress:

ICC10 - Cleared
ICC10 HC - 11/12
ICC25 - 11/12
ICC25 - 1/12

TOTC10- Cleared
TOTC10 HC- Cleared
TOTC25 - Cleared
TOTC25 HC- 2/5

Ruby Sanctum 10 - Cleared.
Ulduar 10 - 13/14 (razorscale not killed, just went for his achi and left after that as it was late :) still ended up with ulduar 10man mount in 1 night)

Character TBC instance progress: Joined WoW at the release of WoTlk so went straight into wotlk raids rather than tbc

Previous guild(s): Calamitous Intent - Very slow/no Progress and people slacking on signups meaning we could hardly raid at all, 25man was almost out of the question. CORE, this guild was a 10man hc guild i started up with my friend but ended up failing as most do. Members were not commited enough. Current guild is Eminence but from what i have seen so far is that people dont learn from mistakes and wipe for the same reasons.

Previous MMOG experience: WoW has allways been my main MMO but have played other little website mmos kinda like runescape but not, cant remember the names :) nothing compared to WoW.
Previous gaming experience: Used to play a LOT of Counterstrike: source and still do a bit now, also play Call of duty's (cod, cod :uo, up to mw2) have various other games i dont tend to play much (L4d, hl2, tf2, grid, etc etc)

Why you would like to join: Bovine intervension is my only hope on khadgar of becoming better than i already am and to experiance new fights to bring the fun back to WoW away from bad 10man pugs etc.
What are your goals in Wow: Lich king 10 or 25 hc kill :) and to get dislodged foriegn object ! god i love that :)! also 25man achievements would be a cool reward, just as my 10man achievements are :)

Please tell us a joke:

I lol'd at this :)

Bob was in trouble. He forgot his wedding anniversary. His wife was
really pissed.

She told him "Tomorrow morning, I expect to find a gift in the
driveway that goes from 0 to 200 in 6 seconds AND IT BETTER BE THERE !!"

The next morning he got up early and left for work. When his wife woke
up, she looked out the window and sure enough there was a box
gift-wrapped in the middle of the driveway.

Confused, the wife put on her robe and ran out to the driveway, brought
the box back in the house.

She opened it and found a brand new bathroom scale.

Bob has been missing since Friday.

Just notice a mistake, i wrote ICC25 raid stats twice.

The second "ICC25" is meant to be ICC25 HC (gunship ofc)

thanks.

That doesnt suprise me either that u would back verdant but mate your judging me on how i was ages ago in coma on a different character. When i was i coma i didnt really feel like i fitted in that well, mostly cause i was the only guy from england of my ages in the guild at the time. Althought its obvious already, i never really saw eye-to-eye with you and verdant in coma, tried many times to start over with you both but neither of you really wanted to know. I have tried to understand that but it shocks me that you still judge me from how i was. I have changed as a player and as a person.

Unlike my deathknight, i feel comfortable playing my boomkin. All my deathknight brang to me was confusion, i remember saying in /g chat that i was gonna stop playin it as i was getting frustrate with it but its a completely different story with my druid. Ive taken advice from some of the best druids on the realm and have seen myself progress.

Coma is a thing of the past for me as it is for everyone now really, i just hope you can find it into to stop basing me on my actions in the past and see how i have changed, i have talked to anderos about the past in coma (relasionship with verdant) as i myself didnt want to hide my past but thats exactly what it is, the past.

A lot of people felt the same way i did about coma, some really decent players. Coma to me was a simular experiance to when i was in memorial, they both felt like guilds that had the main core people that had been in for ages and then some people on the outskirts who wernt really grasped by the guild, people who didn really matter, and thats exactly how i felt in coma.

However this is the past and as i say, i want to put it behind me for good which means people have to stop judging me on the past mainly because it was a different class that i felt uncomfortable player and because i have grown up and cant be bothered with arguements. This is anoher reason i have looked at bovine intervension as to me they looked like a welcoming guild.

Verdant and gooser, i have no problem talking to you in-game if needed abut this and have no problem explaining more to officers etc about this. I feel i needed to make this post to me it clearer to others in the guild of my past.

I do agree about that it's the past and that everyone deserve a second chance. But ages (which is actaully months) isnt such a long time. Of course you could have mature A LOT in those months i don't know. Still from my own personal perspective , you wasnt that easy going in Coma.
From Eminence you do mention that people don't learn from mistake - no offence - but that was how i felt about you in Coma.
Thought on the other hand i have to say you were an very active player.

I would also like to chat with you in-game so we could get things sorted. And i dont reply here to be rude againt you - only to do it fair so all in the guild know who we accept and decline.

By anychance, have you been in Memorial, smoothleo rings a bell with the Memorial-Guildtag?

Okay, seeing as this is a druid app, I feel its up to me to highlight certain things.

1) Playing a different char does not mean your are (as player) a different person. I can't stress this enough, its not because you log in with toon A that you are toon A, or if you play toon B that your toon B. This isn't even the case with core RP'ers. They act in a certain setting. A normal (non-RP player) that setting is you. I have a hard time believing that your more mature just because you play the druid. You can be more mature then months ago, but thats not because of the druidclass.

2) Weird, I don't recall talking with you :s (see what I did there?)

3) Peeps judge persons on their past because there is an undeniable link between the person and its past. You said those things, and you did those things. That doesn't take away how you feel about them now though. But its a part of you, reading by your story, a part you rather didn't have.

4) check 1 pls, and remember actions speak louder then words, its never easy to get past your first impression or first experience with a person.

TL;DR Comments on your app, Goos seems to make decent points, GL with app

-Gooser

Will deffo give you a whisper in the near future mate to sort things out :)

-Abna

1. Yup i was in memorial for a while :) with my dk also (smootheo, think u were getting a little mixed between smootheo and cattleo xD)
2. totally understand your 1st point mate. With my dk it was more the fact that i was becoming stressed with the fact that no matter what i did with it, i couldnt get it to perform as well as other dk's the same kinda gearing as me, like gooser for example (ulduar times). When i played my dk as main i knew i wasent the most easy-goin chap but i put this down to the way i felt about my dk. With my druid i am still the same person ofc :) but i have a much more comfortable position. I know how to get some pretty decent performance out of my druid which gives me much more motivation than my death knight did and im never stressed with it.
3. "Weird, I don't recall talking with you :s (see what I did there?)" genious :D. Have spoken to turox, fulga which i think you'll know :)

Again if you have anything more you want me to answer or expand on lemmi know either in this thread or ingame

-smoothwrath (druid)
-smootheo (dk)
-Rávage (real low level rogue i started last night)

Alternatively you could add my battlenet ID - Luckysurfcs@googlemail.com

Cheers :)
